The iPhone 15 series is the most advanced iPhone yet, in which Apple has added some Indian tech flavor to its higher variant. Year after year, the technologies developed in India are getting adopted fairly well globally.
Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is one of the gems that is taking the country forward with many successful space missions. Apple has also added the NavIC location chip with GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, and BeiDou to the new iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max.

Although Apple is not the first smartphone maker to add this feature, Apple’s adoption will accelerate the spread of indigenous technology. For some reason, Apple has not provided a NavIC chip in the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus variant.
With the NavIC navigation system, the smartphone will use the Indian navigation satellite for location services. It is worth noting that NavIC’s coverage is not global. It provides regional coverage up to about 1500 kilometers across the Indian border.
Meanwhile, NavIC chips in iPhones won’t be a big deal for some of us. But for a company like Apple, adopting Indian components makes a difference. Similarly, the “Make in India” initiative is increasing local production and manufacturing of many electronics items.
By providing a USB Type-C port in iPhone 15, Apple has gathered lots of media attention this year. Similarly, the legendary “Alert Slider” is also changed to an “Action Button”. You can customize the action buttons for different functions as per your use.
