Covid-19: Lockdown and Exam Cancellation required or need strict rules.

Covid-19's permanent solution is the vaccine. Get vaccinated soon 18+ year vaccination will start from May 1, 2021.

We all have not forgotten the day when the first nationwide lockdown hit our life. First Covid-19 lockdown we saw on March 24, 2020, the Indian government ordered a nationwide lockdown. It has been more than a year since we have been fighting coronavirus.

Covid-19 is a hot topic right now around the world, not just in India. Every person and country in the world is affected by this virus in some way. Like small-medium business, country economy, working labours, farmers, etc. Even the large corporates are struggling, and poor peoples are battling to survive.

We all know the scenario when workers are migrating to their hometown after lockdown declared.

Lockdown is Solution?

First, just remind yourself of some basic information about Covid-19 disease.

  • New disease.
  • No proper cure is available.
  • Vaccine under development.
  • Various doubt about the virus spread.
  • Health care infrastructures are not sufficient (Now, in 2021, the condition is better).
  • Shortage of medical equipment, medicines, etc.
  • The entire world is suffering.

During the first nationwide lockdown in March 2020, the country’s GDP contracted to -23 per cent down. All the market activity had stopped, share market crashed, impact on jobs, daily wages people had suffered, etc.

Although, the lockdown was needed to strengthen medical infrastructure, equipment and to understand the virus. Moreover, Hospitals could have collapsed due to excessive virus outbreaks and hospitalization of people. In short, to save the citizens of India, necessary precautionary steps had taken earlier.

What to do now

  • Wear mask, follow social distancing, sanitization, hand wash.
  • Get vaccination.
  • Avoid crowded area.
  • Be responsible and Disciplined

From an economic point of view, Covid-19 lockdown is not the solution. On April 20, 2021, PM of India, Narendra Modi address that the lockdown should be the last step. Currently, the state govt or the district collectors are making guidelines of lockdown or containment zone.

In Uttar Pradesh, amid a surge in coronavirus cases, the high court ordered the state govt to impose lockdown in certain cities. But the state govt denied the high court order to save the livelihood of peoples. However, the state govt has taken various steps and will take more in future to control the spread of the virus.

Covid-19 cases are badly increasing in India, no doubt. Therefore, government and citizens of the country need to follow strict guidelines and be responsible. Covid-19 lockdown only helps temporarily to delay the spread of coronavirus.

Home remedies to reduce Covid-19 risks

  • Take steam daily.
  • Take balance and healthy diet (prefer fresh vegetable and fruits).
  • Drink herbal tea/Kadha tea everyday.
  • Exercise daily ( Min. 30 minutes).
  • Multivitamins (Optional).

Vaccination will play a crucial role in preventing the virus. Therefore, more people must get vaccinated. For a country like India, it is not very easy to vaccinate its huge 138 crore population. Despite being the largest vaccine producer.

Recent Lancet studies also suggested that the coronavirus is also transmitting through the air. There is a full report of Ten scientific reasons in support of airborne transmission of SARS-CoV-2. Airborne transmission is dominating in the spread of the virus. Airborne transmission is dominant in the spread of the virus – Lancet.

In India, the double mutant/ triple mutant variant of coronavirus is also spreading. ICMR tweeted that the Bharat Biotech Covaxin effectively neutralises the double mutant strain as well. Fortunately, the vaccines are effective against the mutant variant of the virus.

Vaccination program and people’s discipline works. And it is proved by countries like Israel, UK. Israel has vaccinated around 60 percent of the population at least one dose. Due to this, wearing a mask outside is not mandatory in Israel. Although, some guidelines still need to follow to avoid the virus spread.

The United Kingdom is on second, vaccinated around 40 per cent of the population. In the UK, govt has eased the guidelines and restrictions. However, people have to stay disciplined and follow some rules.

So, total lockdown of a district, city or country is not the solution. People need to be disciplined on covid-19 rules until vaccination reaches all. Moreover, govt should also take measures to ensure how the people are following covid-19 rules and regulations.

Lockdown is badly impacting the lives of many like small business, daily wages worker or labour, farmers, poor people, etc.

Exam cancelled

Exam during Covid-19 is also very challenging. School and college teachers are taking online classes but the online exam is of no use. Unfortunately, the option of an examination process does not exist yet.

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Council For The Indian School Certificate Examination(CISCE) cancelled their 10th board and postponed their 12th board examinations.

State Boards of Various States have either cancelled or postponed their respective board exams

We understand that the class 10th board exams are not mattered most like class 12th. Every education boards are facing challenges and trying to save students. But academics are important, especially class 12th results, which determines the future admission to colleges or elsewhere.

Overall, the class 12th examination should not be cancelled, hard-working students will suffer. Our boards are working on the best solution possible because continues exam postponed may create stress among students.

Conclusion

We all should not panic in this situation. Although the present situation is worsening, hospitals are struggling to keep up. Furthermore, even hospitals are not getting proper oxygen and beds are full.

On the other hand, Covid-19 lockdown is not the only solution. People should be responsible and discipline to follow covid-19 guidelines. Get vaccination as soon as possible it will reduce the virus spread.

One word for examination is, they are important. Govt, Board, Schools and colleges have to find some new way to conduct exams, especially 12th board examination. Else, wait for the pandemic to come in control, then conduct exams.
