iPhone 15 Series USB Type-C has Slow and Fast Versions

Apple offers USB 2 and USB 3 Speeds ports

USB Type-C port is becoming widespread in our smart devices. For a long time, especially for the iPhone, Apple has resisted USB-C and used the proprietary Lightning connector for charging and data transfers. Ultimately, the Lightning connector changed to USB-C thanks to EU (European Union) laws.

The implementation of the USB Type-C port made a big headline after Apple launched the iPhone 15 series. In truth, Apple had no other choice but to offer USB-C because the EU wanted every smartphone to come with a common connector type (USB-C) by 2024.

India also planned for a similar approach to the EU regarding standard USB Type-C connectors in all electronic devices. Future-proofing, countries’ laws, and users’ demands forced Apple to shift from a proprietary lightning connector to a USB Type-C port.

Two USB Versions in iPhone 15 Series

However, all Apple iPhone 15 series smartphone does not have a similar version of USB Type-C. For some reason, Apple played a shady game here, but I don’t think it will affect many users.

We all know Apple has launched four models of iPhone 15, which are iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Despite all iPhone 15 models having USB Type-C, iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus offer USB version 2.0, which comes with up to 480 Mbps data transfer speed, whereas iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max have USB version 3, which provides up to 10 Gbps data transfer speed.

The world’s greatest tech giant, Apple, is charging extra premium for their smartphone. At least, they should have avoided these types of feature-cutting. I mean, they could have gone with USB version 3 for all iPhone 15 models.
